1. General Information about tanks.
2. What is a side-set/rear-set truck?
3. How soon can I get a septic tank delivered?
4. What do I need with a tank?

1. Our septic tanks are precast concrete constructed. Due to the density of concrete, the tanks are very heavy and require specialized moving equipment. A 1200 gallon septic tank weighs over 12,000 lbs! That's far more than the average backhoe can lift. Fortunately our delivery trucks are well equipped to handle the stresses of moving the tanks. And for the safety and efficiency of the operators, the trucks need to work on level ground while setting the tank.

2. The type of set refers to how the septic tank is physically unloaded from the truck. The side set uses a knuckle boom crane and sets off of the drivers side of the truck, at roughly a 90 degree angle to the hole. The rear set uses a typical rail-type system and sets tanks directly behind the truck. Click here to see a few pictures.

3. Typically a tank can be delievered within two or three days of placing an order. However, during the busy summer months there may be as long as a weeks delay between ordering and delivery. As always, it's good to plan ahead.

4. Every septic tank installed in Lake or Mendocino county is required to have a filtering device installed on the outlet end. We offer a variety of filters from Orenco, Zabel and Tuf-Tite to fit your budget and convienence. Also, we offer Orenco risers in various sizes. Although they're not required, having risers installed will make servicing the filter much easier.
